Emmanuel Coffy

Managing Partner

Emmanuel Coffy is a registered Patent Attorney and ex-Patent Examiner. His practice emphasizes patent application preparation, prosecution, and enforcement in the electronic arts, including Business Methods Patents and Design Patents. Mr. Coffy has extensive experience in digital technologies, computer networks, and information technologies as well as device physics, which includes semiconductor applications. Mr. Coffy co-invented a device called the “Low Friction Apparatus” issued as U.S. Patent No. 8,585,092. He also has experience in re-examination, litigation support, patent infringement assessment, patentability opinion letters, cease-and-desist letters, demand letters and due diligence. Mr. Coffy also advises clients on intellectual property strategy, licensing, trademark, trade secret, copyright and related unfair competition/deceptive advertising issues.

Ian R. Grodman

Of Counsel

An attorney/mediator with more than 20 years of experience, Ian Grodman specializes in the immigration needs corporations and international investors, families, and US parents adopting internationally on their immigration needs.

 

Ian has been qualified as a Mediator by the New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts, pursuant to Rule 1:40, and regularly receives referrals of cases from the New Jersey Superior Court for mediation. He has been honored to be a mediator in the New Jersey Storm Sandy Mediation Project, created by the State of New Jersey, and administered by the American Arbitration Association. Ian works to resolve conflict within families and businesses, and serves as a Mediator in the Maplewood, New Jersey Municipal Court. Ian serves as an arbitrator for The Jansen Group as well as serving as a Commissioner on the Essex County, New Jersey Board of Taxation.

 

A community leader, Ian has served as an elected official in his hometown, as well as on a number of non-profit boards. He is an impassioned advocate on behalf of young people and children. Most recently, Ian has been working with the foundation started by former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, to expand the foundation’s work in the United States, providing opportunities for education, leadership training, and job training in Latin American communities.

Fritzner L. Altidor, Esq. CPA

Fritzner Altidor has more than 20 years of experience in the corporate financial service sector where he held many different positions working in Corporate Tax Planning, Compliances and Audits. As an attorney, Fritzner has provided technical guidance on various tax compliance issues, audit functions as well as assisted with tax due diligence efforts on acquisitions, mergers, and disposition of assets. He has counseled clients on various types of business structures and has drafted partnership/operating agreements.

 

As an accountant, he has prepared/reviewed tax provisions, federal, state and local tax returns, including partnerships and trusts. He also advises on wills, trusts and estate matters. He has also provided advisory, consulting and accounting services to non-for profits. Fritzner has also extensive experiences with immigration matters.

Pat has substantial experience in all aspects of civil litigation, bankruptcy, and foreclosure defense representing creditors, financial institutions, and mortgage servicers. Clients serviced include Fannie Mae, Citibank, Chase, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, U.S. Bank, HSBC Bank USA.

 

Pat’s work in these practices produced in the following notable results:

 

  • First attorney in New Jersey to obtain a ruling for a mortgagee that allows 100 percent recovery of attorney’s fees in a residential mortgage foreclosure matter notwithstanding the Fair Foreclosure Act (Deutsche Bank v. Koehler, Ch. Div. 2013).

 

  • Obtained a ruling for a tax lien holder/creditor in a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy case that required the lien to be set at the New Jersey statutory interest rate of 18% resulting in published opinion In Re: Blackpool Investors Group, LTD, 509 B.R. 470 (2014).

Volel Emile is a patent attorney with extensive experience drafting, filing, prosecuting, and maintaining patents and applications worldwide in both corporate and private practice settings.
